Soccer Recap: Priory Find Success

Priory was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged the Pinewood Panthers out 2-1. Given Priory's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 538th, while Pinewood is ranked 1151st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Otu Ituh and Jack Nuttall scored both of Priory's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Priory's win bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Pinewood, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Priory will square off against Sacred Heart Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Priory's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Pinewood, they will host Menlo School at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Menlo School will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Pinewood surely won't give up without a fight.
