Basketball Recap: Westside Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Dakota Dale and Garlynn Grant

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Westside can now relate to. They took a 62-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Memorial Mustangs on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 665th, while the Mustangs are ranked 225th).

Garlynn Grant and Dakota Dale certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Grant went 9 for 20 on her way to 22 points and six rebounds, while Dale posted 11 points and seven boards. Jakaila Matlock was another key player, putting up ten points.

Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 17-15. As for Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 22-15 record this season.

As of now, neither Westside nor Memorial have any future games scheduled.
