While Woodcrest Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Jurupa Valley Jaguars 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Royals' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Woodcrest Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Jurupa Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Coming up, Woodcrest Christian will venture away from home to square off against Aquinas at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodcrest Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Aquinas' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Jurupa Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Santa Rosa Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
