The Brooklyn Tech Engineers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They walked away with a 58-49 win over Sunset Park. That's another feather in the cap for Brooklyn Tech, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Brooklyn Tech got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Baseer Mirza out in front who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Opalack, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Brooklyn Tech has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Sunset Park, they bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brooklyn Tech on the road again on Friday and play against Robeson Business Tech at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Robeson Business Tech has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 29. As for Sunset Park, they will head out on the road to take on Achievement First at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Achievement First's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
