Basketball Preview: Homer Pelicans vs. Parkway Panthers
The Homer Pelicans will head out on the road to take on the Parkway Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Homer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Panthers are ranked 99th).
Last Wednesday, Homer came up short against the Panthers and fell 66-53. Homer has struggled against the Panthers recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Parkway came into Friday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged Airline out 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Homer's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Parkway, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-14.
