Basketball Recap: Nelson Island Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Acelyn Moses and Kelsey Angaiak

Nelson Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Scammon Bay Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Islanders have lost by exactly four points.

Despite the defeat, Nelson Island had strong showings from Kelsey Angaiak, who posted 14 points, and Acelyn Moses, who scored 17 points.

Nelson Island now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Scammon Bay, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Nelson Island wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 52-34 win against St. Mary's on the 30th. Scammon Bay has also already played their next game, a 40-25 victory against Dillingham on the 30th.
