Volleyball Recap: Mt. Pleasant's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of four wins, Mt. Pleasant's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Linden Eagles by a score of 2-1. The Oilers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2018.

Morgan Borodychuk paced Mt. Pleasant's offense, picking up 13 kills. Borodychuk got some help from Abigail Webster and her 25 assists. Webster also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alexis Borodychuk, racking up two apiece.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3-1. As for Linden, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Mt. Pleasant has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Inter-City Baptist on the 20th. Linden has also already played their next contest (against Cadillac), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
