Softball Recap: Pierre T.F. Riggs Comes Up Short

Pierre T.F. Riggs had lost five straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-15 to make it six. They came up short against the Brandon Valley Lynx, falling 9-1. The Governors were not able to make up for their loss to the Lynx from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Brandon Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Considering they have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Brandon Valley's part, Gabriel Kriech spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. Kriech has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Fitts, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Alexa Harms was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
