Basketball Recap: Dodge City Comes Up Short

Dodge City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Andover Central Jaguars.

Jace Jefferson was nothing short of spectacular for Andover Central: he went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Jefferson also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Jayden Brown was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Dodge City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Andover Central, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dodge City will head out to challenge Alva at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Andover Central, they will head out on the road to take on Maize at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andover Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season.
