Basketball Recap: Fisher Catholic Skates Past Shekinah Christian with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fisher Catholic had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed past the Shekinah Christian Flames to the tune of 59-29. The Irish have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 20 points or more this season.

Fisher Catholic found their leader in freshman Hadli Gillum, who shot 59% from the field en route to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gillum has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Snoke, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Fisher Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shekinah Christian only six assists.

When it comes to explaining why Shekinah Christian lost, don't look at Haylee Beachy. Despite the final result, she went 6-for-11 on her way to 14 points. That was a full 48.3% of Shekinah Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row Beachy has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Fisher Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.2 points on average over those games. Shekinah Christian's loss dropped their record down to 15-10.

Fisher Catholic has already played their next contest, a 51-22 defeat against Waterford on the 27th. Shekinah Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
