Baseball Recap: Durango Gets the Win

Durango was handed a eight-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Carson Senators 12-11.

Jayden Shuford was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Carson Crosby was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Shuford wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Durango kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win got Durango back to even at 4-4. As for Carson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Durango will be playing in front of their home fans against The Meadows School at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The Meadows School is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.3 runs per game this season. As for Carson, they will be playing at home against Reno at 3:45 p.m. on March 25th. Carson has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
