Basketball Recap: W.S. Neal Comes Up Short

W.S. Neal lost against Jackson back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The W.S. Neal Eagles had to suffer through a 79-42 loss at the hands of the Jackson Aggies. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Jackson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Duckworth, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards. Those 19 points gave Duckworth a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keeyun Chapman, who went 6 for 9 en route to 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

W.S. Neal has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for Jackson, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

W.S. Neal will face off against Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jackson, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 87-54 win against Clarke County on the 18th.
