Baseball Game Preview: Hernando Leopards vs. The Villages Charter Buffalo

For the second straight game, Hernando will face off against The Villages Charter. The Leopards will be playing at home against the Buffalo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last five games Hernando has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Hernando is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand The Villages Charter a 2-0 shutout.

Not much got past Austin Knierim, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep The Villages Charter off the board. Knierim also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Hernando is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 12-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Landon Euler, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Palmer Looper, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

With the loss, The Villages Charter broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-7. As for Hernando, their victory bumped their record up to 17-14.
