League recap: Beddingfield extends winning streak with victory over North Pitt

2A Conference 14 recap October 22, 2013

Adding to the longest winning streak in 2A Conference 14 this week, Beddingfield beat North Pitt 27-22. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

Beddingfield and the Panthers played the most contested game in the league this week, with Beddingfield eventually emerging with a 27-22 victory.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Tyrone Johnson's team's KAVAJAE ELLIS and JAVIUS NIXON have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback ELLIS has thrown for 1,262 yards this season, while NIXON has 26 catches for 569 yards. Markel Spencer from Washington leads the league in rushing with 1,176 yards.

Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Bruins' NIXON goes up against the Pam-Pack's Elijah Randall.

One of 2A Conference 14's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Beddingfield and Washington face off next week.

Next week's game between the Bruins and Sport Sawyer's team will feature an aerial matchup as ELLIS tests his arm against Randall's defensive ability.

The Pam-Pack are currently in second, while Beddingfield is in fourth.

The league will see a high scoring game when Washington and the Bruins face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Pam-Pack comes in having scored 186 this season, while Beddingfield has scored 201. Washington scored 27 points last week as it defeated Southwest Edgecombe.

North Johnston fell to Farmville Central 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
