Softball Recap: Rogers Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Rogers won against Scott last Monday with 29 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Everything went the Rams' way against the Woodward Polar Bears as they made off with a 29-9 win. That 20 run margin sets a new team best for the Rams this season.

Jaiden Walton was a standout: she scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Zyla Hill also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Rogers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in three consecutive games.

Rogers' victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2. As for Woodward, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Rogers didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-2 loss against Emmanuel Christian on the 4th. As for Woodward, they will venture away from home to challenge Northwood at 5:00 p.m. on the 11th.
