Softball Recap: Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans vs. Baltic Bulldogs
On Saturday, the Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans suffered a tough 20-10 defeat at the hands of the Baltic Bulldogs. Mt. Vernon/Plankinton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mt. Vernon/Plankinton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madalynn Lorang, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Maggie Overbay was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
Mt. Vernon/Plankinton now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Baltic, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-6.
Mt. Vernon/Plankinton will take on Chester at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Chester knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Mt. Vernon/Plankinton likes a good challenge. As for Baltic, they will head out on the road to take on Florence/Henry at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
