Softball Recap: Murrieta Valley Comes Up Short

Murrieta Valley lost against Murrieta Mesa last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Nighthawks took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Nighthawks just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Betsy Gonzalez and Evun Seeforth did some serious damage despite the final result: Gonzalez scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Seeforth went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ella Burch, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Murrieta Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Murrieta Mesa, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-6-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Murrieta Valley will take on rival Vista Murrieta at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Murrieta Mesa is set to face off against their familiar foe Temecula Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
