Eastlake never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Coronado Thunderbirds with a sharp 19-0 victory. Considering the Falcons have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Aydenn Estrada was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Gabriella Martinez and Samantha Ponce did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Ponce went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Ponce continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Zaira Mendoza was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Eastlake's record now sits at 22-12. As for Coronado, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-25.
