Baseball Game Preview: South Bend Riley Wildcats vs. South Bend Adams Eagles

For the second straight game, South Bend Riley will face off against South Bend Adams. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Bend Riley has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 24.

South Bend Riley lost 15-2 to South Bend Adams on Tuesday.

For South Bend Adams' part, they got a great performance from KANE GODDARD as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave GODDARD a new career-high.

At the plate, WESSON HOKE was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. BEN PIECHOCKI was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

South Bend Adams was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Bend Riley only posted a batting average of .263.

South Bend Adams has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-18 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for South Bend Riley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.
