Appalachian had won three straight road games dating back to last season and Braden Gilliland did his part to make it four on Friday. The Eagles blew past the Section Lions 48-21 with plenty of help from Gilliland, who rushed for 200 yards and five scores on only 15 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 82-yard run.

Appalachian's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Section, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Appalachian will host Spring Garden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Section, they are taking a road trip to challenge Gaston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
