Football Game Preview: Arbor View Aggies vs. Shadow Ridge Mustangs

Arbor View is 0-3 against Shadow Ridge since December of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Arbor View Aggies will challenge the Shadow Ridge Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Arbor View's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three matches.

Arbor View's offense will try to repeat the strong performance it gave on Thursday, when they got past Chaparral's usually-dominant defense. Arbor View claimed a resounding 48-0 victory over Chaparral. The Aggies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Priscilla Garcia, who threw for 287 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 84% of her passes, and also rushed for 34 yards. She has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times she's played. Jayda Emil was another key player, picking up 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge earned a 27-14 win over Liberty on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Arbor View better focus on containing Savanna McDow and Jaylani Palmer as the pair were huge in Shadow Ridge's win. McDow rushed for 154 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, while Palmer gained 131 total yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave McDow a new career-high in rushing yards.

Arbor View's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.2 points per game. As for Shadow Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Arbor View ended up a good deal behind Shadow Ridge in their previous matchup back in January, losing 26-12. Can Arbor View avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
