Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thornwell). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the McCormick Chiefs a 17-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Saints as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Thornwell's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-8. As for McCormick, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Chiefs beat Thornwell by a score of 16-0 later that day.
