Volleyball Recap: Strawberry Crest Triumphs

Strawberry Crest picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Riverview Sarasota Rams 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Strawberry Crest found their leader in sophomore Haley Kang, who had 15 digs. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for Kang. Piper Moyer also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Despite the loss, Riverview Sarasota still got an impressive performance from Tara Stults, who had 14 assists and three digs. Stults is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Natalia Leguizamon was another key player, getting 12 assists and three digs.

Strawberry Crest's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Riverview Sarasota, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.

Strawberry Crest has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Florida State University High School on the 27th. As for Riverview Sarasota, they will take on Venice at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
