Volleyball Recap: Northwest Rankin's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Northwest Rankin waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Clinton Arrows as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2023.

Northwest Rankin was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-13, 25-21.

Northwest Rankin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophie Tatum, who had four digs and three aces. Tatum is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Delaney Yarrow was another key player, getting three digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Northwest Rankin was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Northwest Rankin's record is now 6-3. As for Clinton, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Northwest Rankin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Meridian on the 19th. As for Clinton, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Biloxi on the 16th.
