Basketball Recap: Maple River's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Maple River came into Tuesday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past the St. Clair Cyclones with a 68-63 victory on Tuesday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 71-62 win the Cyclones walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Maple River's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 8-16. As for St. Clair, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Maple River and St. Clair could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. Maple River (ranked 268th) will meet Wyndmere/Lidgerwood (ranked 65th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Clair will challenge Windom at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday down 142 places (200 vs. 58).
