Basketball Recap: American Patriots vs. West Broward Bobcats
American took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). Everything went their way against the West Broward Bobcats as the American Patriots made off with a 72-48 victory. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bobcats, too.
American had a senior duo take command as Derrius Black almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds and Joshua Castin went 6 for 8 en route to 13 points plus seven steals. The dominant performance also gave Black a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Jonathan Garcia, who scored 11 points in addition to two steals.
American will host North Miami Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Broward, they will square off against Fort Lauderdale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
