Basketball Recap: K'veon Griffin Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ashley

West Brunswick posted their closest victory since December 27, 2024 on Tuesday. They skirted past the Ashley Screaming Eagle 64-61. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Screaming Eagle back in January, they had to take a 47-42 defeat.

West Brunswick got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was K'Veon Griffin out in front who went 10 for 12 en route to 23 points and five assists. With that strong performance, Griffin is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew McKenney, who posted 20 points and five steals.

Griffin wasn't the only one working in the assists department: West Brunswick was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for West Brunswick and bumps their season record up to 11-9. As for Ashley, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
