Softball Recap: McDonald Comes Up Short

McDonald was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the LaBrae Vikings. On the bright side, the six- run effort marked the Blue Devils' highest-scoring contest to date.

Addison Grewell and Kayla Helco stepped up to the plate in a big way. Grewell went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Helco scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Grewell also put up a run, which was her first of the season.

McDonald's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for LaBrae, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

McDonald has already played their next game, a 15-2 victory against Springfield on the 7th. As for LaBrae, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-6 win against Garfield on the 7th.
