Softball Game Preview: Laredo LBJ Wolves vs. Eagle Pass Eagles

Laredo LBJ hasn't had much luck against Eagle Pass recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Laredo LBJ will head out on the road to square off against Eagle Pass at 5:00 p.m. Neither Laredo LBJ nor Eagle Pass posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Friday just wasn't the day for Laredo LBJ's offense. They lost 7-0 to Medina Valley on Friday.

Meanwhile, Eagle Pass got themselves on the board against Cornerstone Christian on Friday, but Cornerstone Christian never followed suit. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Warriors 2-0. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Eagle Pass saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michelle Torralba, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Torralba has posted since back in February. Alessa Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Eagle Pass pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Laredo LBJ, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

Laredo LBJ came up short against Eagle Pass in their previous meeting on March 7th, falling 5-2. Can Laredo LBJ avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
