The Pandora-Gilboa Rockets will venture away from home to square off against the Kalida Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pandora-Gilboa is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
Pandora-Gilboa will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Liberty-Benton, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Rockets walked away with a 3-1 win over the Eagles on Wednesday.
Pandora-Gilboa walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-20, 20-25, 29-27.
Kalida not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Columbus Grove as they made off with a 3-0 win.
Kalida never let Columbus Grove on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 28-26, 25-15.
Kalida's win came from a few key players Pandora-Gilboa will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carlie Siefker, who had 13 digs and two assists. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Sophie Vorst was another key player, getting five digs and three aces.
Kalida was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive matchups.
Pandora-Gilboa's record is now 16-5. As for Kalida, their record now sits at an identical 16-5.
Pandora-Gilboa took their victory against Kalida when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
