There's no place like home for Big Rapids, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Cedar Springs Red Hawks 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cardinals as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Big Rapids had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-13, 15-11.

Big Rapids' win bumped their record up to 6-14-1. As for Cedar Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14-3 record this season.

Big Rapids didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Petoskey on the 20th. As for Cedar Springs, they will head out on the road to square off against Otsego at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
