Softball Recap: Concord Christian Lions vs. Grace Christian Academy Rams
Concord Christian lost against Grace Christian Academy back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Concord Christian Lions fell 10-5 to the Grace Christian Academy Rams. Concord Christian has not had much luck with Grace Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Alexia (Lexi) Esteppe was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth (EKR) Reed, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
Even though they lost, Concord Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
On Grace Christian Academy's side, Hayden Hill was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Hill has been hot recently, having posted two or more doubles the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Malone, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Concord Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Grace Christian Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing First Baptist Academy the next time they take the field. Grace Christian Academy will head out to face First Baptist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Concord Christian will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
