Baseball Game Preview: Newark Norsemen vs. Somonauk Bobcats

For the second straight game, Newark will face off against Somonauk. The Norsemen will be playing at home against the Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Newark is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Newark's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Somonauk. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Norsemen as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Not much got past Eastin Mcbroom, who gave up just seven hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Somonauk off the board. Mcbroom also tossed a walk, which is notable because Newark is 7-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-16 otherwise.

At the plate, Newark saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Wills, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Newark's win bumped their record up to 12-17. As for Somonauk, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.
