Basketball Game Recap: Big Lake vs. Monticello

If the Big Lake Hornets were expecting to get some payback for the 73-54 loss against the Monticello Magic when they previously met last month, then they were left disappointed. The Hornets have to be aching after a bruising 83-61 defeat to Monticello this past Friday. Big Lake's defeat came despite an improvement on an already decent score in their previous defeat against St. Francis.

The defeat dropped Big Lake's record to 5-17. The win makes it two in a row for Monticello and bumps their record up to 14-11.

Big Lake will take on North Branch on Friday. The MaxPreps rankings favor Big Lake, but they won't be able to rely on this superior ranking alone to carry them to victory. Monticello will look to defend their home court Monday against North Branch. The Magic will be hoping to continue their now four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
