Baseball Recap: Corbin Extends Winning Streak to Four

Corbin entered their tilt with Dixie Heights on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Colonels with a sharp 13-3 victory.

Cruz Cima spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Corbin is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Corbin got a massive performance out of Kade Elam, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Elam a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Noah Cima, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Corbin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dixie Heights only posted an OBP of .333.

Corbin's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Dixie Heights, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season.

Corbin will head out to face off against North Laurel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dixie Heights, they will welcome Campbell County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Camels have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
