Recap: Pinecrest Patriots vs. Hoke County Bucks
The Pinecrest Patriots put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Hoke County for the full four quarters, racking up a 35-6 victory at home. Considering Pinecrest has won five contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Zymire Spencer, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also picked up 51 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Hansen, who threw for 119 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Pinecrest's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Knightdale and 3-7 Hoke County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 40% over those games). As for Hoke County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Pinecrest will square off against Union Pines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Union Pines is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Hoke County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
