Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Mineola's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

Mineola won the last time they faced Eustace and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mineola Yellowjackets enjoyed a cozy 55-37 victory over the Eustace Bulldogs. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 467th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1078th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eustace's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Holland, who posted eight points. Those eight points gave Holland a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ailie Stegall, who had nine points and six rebounds.

Mineola has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points per game. As for Eustace, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Coincidentally, Mineola and Eustace will both be playing Grand Saline the next time they take the court. Eustace will host Grand Saline at 6:10 p.m. on Friday, while Mineola will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
