Softball Recap: Berkley Takes a Loss

Berkley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Royal Oak Ravens. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by just one run.

Olivia Long made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brooke Schall, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Berkley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9-1. As for Royal Oak, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Berkley is set to challenge their familiar foe Seaholm at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Royal Oak will face off against rival Farmington at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
