Dakota came out on top against Romeo on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Cougars walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Bulldogs. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.

Alivia Reardon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jenna Higgins was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Kiley Phelan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Dakota's record now sits at 17-5. As for Romeo, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-7.

Dakota and Romeo should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Cougars will face off against Chippewa Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (4 vs. 157). Meanwhile, Romeo (ranked 32nd) will meet Utica Eisenhower (ranked 148th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
