Basketball Recap: North Stokes Takes a Loss

North Stokes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Airy Granite Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Granite Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-31 two weeks ago.

Leading Mount Airy to victory were Da'Nya Mills and Jalaya Revels. Mills dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards, while Revels went 7-for-14 to rack up 20 points and five rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Revels has scored at least a third of Mount Airy's points. Mckenna Watson was another key player, putting up six points.

North Stokes' defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Mount Airy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season.

North Stokes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 48-42 loss against West Stokes on the 5th. As for Mount Airy, they have also already played their next game, a 60-25 defeat against North Surry on the 7th.
