Montpelier entered their tilt with Antwerp on Monday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They walked away with  a   6-1  victory over the Archers. The Locomotives have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Archers, too.
 Madelyn Hopper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on two hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Zoe Uribes, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and one  triple. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Jada Uribes, who  went 1-for-2 with one  home run and two  RBI.
 They weren't the only ones working in the  home run department: Montpelier  lost a few balls and  finished the game with two  home runs. That's the most  home runs they've managed all season.
Montpelier's win was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 11-5. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Antwerp, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montpelier will venture away from home to  square off against Holgate  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.8  runs per game on average), something the Locomotives will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Antwerp, they are taking a road trip to  challenge Ayersville  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Archers will need to watch out since the Pilots have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last three matchups.
