Softball Game Preview: Loudon Redskins vs. Lenoir City Panthers

Loudon hasn't had much luck against Lenoir City recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Redskins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Loudon is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Polk County by a score of 9-4 on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Redskins as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Lenoir City entered their tilt with Midway on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Green Wave 13-3. Considering the Panthers have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lenoir City got a big performance out of Sophie Reed, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Helton, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Lenoir City pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Loudon, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
