Baseball Recap: Lancaster's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Lancaster didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out the Horn Jaguars 3-2. The three-run effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Lancaster's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Ortega, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Those stolen bases marked the first that Ortega snagged this season. Joseph Foster was another, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.

The win (which was Lancaster's third in a row) raised their record to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Horn, they moved to 9-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Lancaster will have a chance to go back-to-back against Horn: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
