Soccer Game Preview: Palatine vs. Barrington

Palatine hasn't had much luck against Barrington recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fillies/Broncos at 6:30 p.m. Palatine's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Palatine gave up the first goal on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Conant 2-1. That's two games straight that Palatine have won by just one goal.

Jocelyn Bonilla was the driving force of Palatine's attack as she scored both of Palatine's goals, bringing her season total up to five goals.

Meanwhile, Barrington faced Naperville Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Fillies/Broncos fell 2-0 to the Redhawks. The loss was Barrington's first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Barrington fell to 11-1-2. As for Palatine, their win bumped their record up to 8-3-2.

Palatine skirted past Barrington 1-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fillies/Broncos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
