Basketball Game Preview: Pine Hill Warriors vs. Coronado Leopards

The Pine Hill Warriors will square off against the Coronado Leopards at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Pine Hill's favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Coronado has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Last Tuesday, Pine Hill blew past Northwest, posting a 66-20 win.

Nevaeh Natan was her usual excellent self, going 10-for-18 to rack up 24 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. The game was her third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Skye Henry, who posted 11 points along with six assists and six boards.

Pine Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Coronado played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 64-33 loss at the hands of East Mountain. The Leopards were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.

Pine Hill has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Everything came up roses for Pine Hill against Coronado in their previous meeting last Wednesday, as the squad secured a 54-21 victory. Does Pine Hill have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coronado turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
