Timberlake Christian falls despite strong effort from Sawyer Epps

Recap: Timberlake Christian Tornadoes vs. Temple Christian Crusaders

The Timberlake Christian Tornadoes fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Temple Christian Crusaders on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Crusaders 71-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Despite the loss, Timberlake Christian still got an impressive performance from Sawyer Epps, who scored 27 points. Epps scored a full 40.3% of Timberlake Christian's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Adrian Warrick, who scored 15 points.

Timberlake Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Temple Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Timberlake Christian will face off against Christian Heritage Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Temple Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against New Covenant at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th. One thing working in New Covenant's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
