Shekinah Christian has gone a perfect 3-0 against Northside Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Flames will face off against the Lions at 10:00 a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Shekinah Christian has three straight victories, Northside Christian has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Shekinah Christian had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Madison Christian last Tuesday. The Flames blew past the Eagles 15-1. Considering the Flames have won six contests by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Aiden Nofziger made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Shekinah Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alex Bauermeister, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Yoder, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one double.
Shekinah Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Northside Christian came up short against Granville Christian Academy on Friday, falling 19-4.
Northside Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braden Miller, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Shekinah Christian pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Northside Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Northside Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Shekinah Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .383. It's a different story for Northside Christian, though, as they've only averaged .228. Will they be able to contain Shekinah Christian's hitters?
Shekinah Christian took their win against Northside Christian when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 24-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Flames since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
