Basketball Game Preview: Milford Eagles vs. Walnut Hills Eagles

Milford is 1-9 against Walnut Hills since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Milford Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Walnut Hills Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Milford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season.

Milford is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing West Clermont: they outscored them in every quarter. Milford was the clear victor by a 68-46 margin over West Clermont on Tuesday.

Milford's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Camron Arington, who went 9 for 16 en route to 27 points and six boards, and Sloan Gormley, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points. Those 24 points gave Gormley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dillon Grimes, who posted five points and eight rebounds.

Milford was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Walnut Hills ended up a good deal behind Loveland on Tuesday and lost 75-56. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Walnut Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Milford, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Milford came up short against Walnut Hills when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 64-55. Can Milford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
