Recap: Lakeview Gators vs. Winnfield Tigers
Even though the Winnfield Tigers scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, the Lakeview Gators still came out on top. Lakeview took down Winnfield 71-56. This was payback for Lakeview, who suffered a 54-52 loss the last time these two teams met.
Winnfield's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cl Davis, who scored 19 points along with three steals. Davis hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jaylon Jackson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Lakeview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Winnfield, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.
Lakeview will take on Jonesboro-Hodge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Winnfield, they will head out on the road to take on Red River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Red River's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight games.
