Basketball Game Preview: Midland Timberwolves vs. Cornerstone Christian Cyclones

Midland is 1-7 against Cornerstone Christian since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Midland Timberwolves will square off against the Cornerstone Christian Cyclones at 7:30 p.m. Cornerstone Christian took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Midland, who comes in off a win.

Midland is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since February 15, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged St. Bede out 44-41. The win continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 47-43 to St. Teresa. The Cyclones have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Midland pushed their record up to 8-16 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points over those games. As for Cornerstone Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16.
